Who runs this site
Jonas Verest, Lausanne, Switzerland. Contact: jonas@verest.ch.
Hosting
The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany. Like any web server, it processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure. These technical logs are not used to profile visitors.
Analytics
Visits are counted with Umami, an analytics tool that runs on the same server as this site. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data: it counts pages viewed, where visitors came from, browser, device type and country, without identifying anyone. The data stays on that server and is not shared with anyone.
One preference is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie: light or dark theme.
Embedded content
Some pages embed videos or other content from third parties, for example YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) or Wistia. When it loads, that provider receives your IP address under its own privacy policy. Links to Instagram, LinkedIn and media outlets take you to their sites.
If you write to me, I keep your email to reply and don't share it.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask what data about you I hold and have it corrected or deleted. Write to jonas@verest.ch. You can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority.
