Race across France 2024
DNF after 2222km and 29’000m of elevation in 115 hours.
I came to the Race Across France 2024 with one goal: to win. And for a while, everything was going according to plan—I led the race and felt on top of the world. Then things took a wild turn. I broke my crankset but miraculously got it replaced, only for all my lights to fail, leaving me to cross the Pyrenees at night with just my phone’s flashlight… until that died too. Still chasing that win, I pushed harder—too hard. I ended up deep in hallucination territory, and just like that, my bid for victory was over. Despite being on track for fourth place, the replacement crankset also gave out, and I decided to scratch 300km from the finish. A mix of triumph and disaster, this race confirmed I belong at the front but left a strong sense of unfinished business…
